i practice prairie plant alchemy.

I steam-distill small batches of wild and homegrown plants in a copper alembic still, producing aromatic hydrosols alive with the properties of each plant. Otherwise known as floral waters, hydrosols are a co-product of distilling plant material (flowers, herbs, leaves, roots, berries, and twigs) for essential oil.

In the alchemical tradition, this distillate was believed to host the soul and essence of a plant. Scientifically, hydrosols contain all properties of the plant within each drop, such as the water-soluble components, the essential oil molecules, and the very fluid that flows within its individual cells.

Access these pure plant essences in limited quantities in the Seasonal Offerings section of the shop.
